General Information

     All events linked to personal status (birth, marriage, divorce, death) of Lebanese nationals abroad have applications that must be registered with the Lebanese delegations (Embassy, General Consulate, Honorary Consulate…).  

    In the event there is no Lebanese Delegation in the country where the event took place, registration must be made at the Lebanese delegation which is located in the nearest neighboring country. If Lebanese Nationals return to Lebanon before completing their formalities abroad, these formalities may be completed through the Department of Property and Registration (this page is available only in Arabic) within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in st1:City w:st="on">Beirut which will transfer the formality to the Lebanese Delegation abroad, in order to complete it and send it back to Beirut.  

       Registration does not take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants under any circumstances. The role of the Ministry is limited to receiving applications pertaining to formalities registered with Lebanese delegations abroad and providing the concerned persons with the necessary information to help them complete their formalities.

      It is possible to make exceptions to the rule in order to facilitate formalities for citizens and accept their applications, provided they are accompanied by the supporting documents (translated and duly legalized by the Department of Legalization within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants), before sending them to the diplomatic representation in the country where the event took place.
