Registration of Births, Marriages, Divorces, and Deaths.
Register the birth of an eligible child with the Lebanese Civil Registry.
•Birth Registration is available for children whose father is a Lebanese citizen.
•The parents' marriage must already be registered in the Lebanese Civil Registry before the child's birth can be registered.
1. Download and complete the required application form: Birth Registration Application.
2. Copy of both parents' passports.
3. Lebanese Family Civil Registry Extract.
4. Registered Lebanese Marriage Certificate.
5. Birth Certificate authenticated according to the country of birth:
•Sweden
Birth certificate issued by the competent authorities and certified by the Swedish Tax Agency.
Personbevis 120 (Extract from the Population Register) for the child, in English, containing all information.
•Denmark
Birth certificate issued by the Danish Church and authenticated by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
•Norway
Birth certificate issued by the Norwegian Population Register and authenticated by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
•Finland
Birth certificate issued by the Finnish Population Register and authenticated by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Free of charge.
The processing time for birth registration applications is generally 3 to 5 months from the date a complete application is received.
1. Download and complete the required form.
2. Prepare the required documents.
3. Send the application to the Embassy by mail.
• All documents must be authenticated in advance by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country in which the document was issued.
• All required documents must be submitted in full and in a clear, legible form.
• Applicants are advised to keep copies of all documents before sending them to the Embassy.

Registering of civil marriages concluded in the Nordic countries with the Lebanese authorities.
Lebanese Citizens
1. Download and complete the required form: Marriage Registration Application.
2. Recent Lebanese individual or family civil registry extract for each spouse, with a copy.
3. If one spouse is a foreign national:
•Original birth certificate translated into Arabic or English.
•Copy of passport.
•Original civil marriage certificate issued according to the country of marriage:
•Sweden
Civil marriage certificate issued by the Swedish Tax Agency.
Skatteverket copy from the archive of the marriage certificate (vigselintyg).
•Denmark
Civil marriage certificate issued by the Danish civil authorities and legalized by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
•Norway
Civil marriage certificate issued by the Norwegian civil authorities and legalized by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
•Finland
Civil marriage certificate issued by the Finnish civil authorities and legalized by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Registration of a divorce with the Lebanese civil status registry.
1. Complete the required form.
2. A copy of the registered Lebanese marriage certificate, together with two additional copies.
3. A copy of both spouses' passports.
4. A copy of a recent Lebanese family civil registry extract, together with two additional copies.
5. The divorce judgment issued by the competent judicial authority:
6. Translated into Arabic.
7. The original document and its Arabic translation must both be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country concerned.
8. A power of attorney from one of the spouses authorizing the enforcement of the divorce judgment.
9. A copy of the bank transfer receipt.

Registration of a death in the Lebanese civil status registry.
1. Download and complete the required application form: Death Registration Application.
2. A copy of the deceased's family registration record (Family Civil Registry Extract).
3. A copy of the deceased's passport.
4. The original death certificate issued by the competent authorities and duly legalized/authenticated.
In Sweden: Dödsfallsintyg och släktutredning (Death Certificate and Family Investigation/Next-of-Kin Report).
5. A death certificate issued by the hospital stating the cause of death, certified by the hospital.
In Sweden: Dödsorsaksintyg till Socialstyrelsen (Medical Certificate of Cause of Death submitted to the National Board of Health and Welfare).
Free of charges.
Applications for the transportation of a deceased person to Lebanon may be submitted through the Embassy.
This service is available only for Lebanese citizens and Palestinian refugees residing in Lebanon.
1. One photocopy of the deceased's Lebanese Family Registration Record.
2. One photocopy of the deceased's passport.
3. Death certificate issued by the competent authorities and duly legalised.
4. Certificate issued by the Ministry of Health confirming that the body is free from contagious and infectious diseases.
5. Certificate confirming that the body has been fully embalmed.
6. Laissez-Passer for the deceased issued by the country of residence.
7. Any additional documents considered necessary by the Embassy.
Free of charge.
Applications are processed once all required documents have been submitted and reviewed by the Embassy.
1. Prepare all required documents.
2. Submit the application and supporting documents to the Embassy.
3. Provide any additional documents if requested during the processing of the application.
This service is available only for Lebanese citizens and Palestinian refugees residing in Lebanon.
The Embassy may request additional documents during the processing of the application.
All documents issued by foreign authorities must be duly legalised where applicable.
